Thalassemia is an autosomal recessive disease that common in Iraq with a prevalence of 35.7 per 100,000. It the most type hereditary anemia registered 2015. life-threatening condition many complications which if not managed could cause death early age. This study aimed to assess awareness Iraqi people about thalassemia transmission and prevention find their source information disease, as developing good first advantageous road establish successful program. cross-sectional involved 417 participants who were from medical non-medical fields. was conducted online survey addition interview using self-structured questionnaire tested for content face validity, unidimensionality test-retest reliability pilot 40 participants.
